How ImmiQA works

Immigration questions are hard to search because the answer almost always starts with "it depends which country, which visa, and your exact situation." ImmiQA is built to handle that first step: turn a messy worry into a clearer, plain-language starting point — without asking you to fill in a form.

1. Ask in your own words

Type your situation the way you'd explain it to a friend, in any language. There's no sign-up and no required country dropdown. Mentioning where you're moving to (or from) helps, but you don't have to — the tool will ask if it needs to.

2. We work out which rules apply

Immigration rules are country-specific. The tool tries to infer the relevant country from your question — a named country, a visa or program name, a currency, a document type — and tells you the assumption it's making so you can correct it. If it genuinely can't tell, or the answer would change a lot depending on the country, it asks you before answering.

3. Plain-language guidance, with honest limits

You get a general explanation and sensible next steps — not a decision about your case. The tool separates general information from the judgement calls that only a registered professional can properly make, and it points you to the official government source so you can verify the current rules.

4. When it's time for a real adviser

Some questions are past the point of general information — a refusal with appeal rights, a character or health concern, a fast-approaching deadline, or anything where a mistake is costly. When your question crosses that line, the tool says so and can point you to registered help, including a review with a registered professional if you want hands-on support. It only offers that when it fits — it never blocks an answer behind it.
